Senior Professorship of Private Law, Law of Civil Procedure, Private International Law and Comparative Law

Jochen Taupitz came to Mannheim in 1989/90 and holds the Chair of Private Law, Law of Civil Procedure, Private International Law and Comparative Law. He's also the director of the Institute for German, European and International Medical Law, Public Health Law and Bioethics of the universities of Heidelberg and Mannheim (IMGB).

In his research, Jochen Taupitz focuses on Medical Law and Public Health Law. He values interdisciplinary studies and uses insight from Bioethics, Natural Sciences and Medicine.
