Research at the Department of Law
Mannheim researchers are present at international conferences. Their expertise is highly respected, for example, by the UN, but also by the German Ethics Council and other commissions. The number of publications in renowned journals and commentaries is considerable. Even at the University of Mannheim itself active research activities are well received.
As research and teaching activities at the University of Mannheim are closely intertwined, students also reap the benefits from the progress our researchers make. Their primary fields of research are reflected in the integrated program in Law (LL.B. / state examination) with its focus on business and economic law as well as in the subjects taught in the three master's programs offered by the Department. The fact that students at the Department of Law are very happy with their studies, as confirmed by the CHE University Ranking, testifies to this strong link.
In the classroom, professors and teachers draw on the results from researchconducted, for example, at the Institute for Corporate Law (IURUM), the Institute for German, European and International Medical Law, Public Health Law and Bioethics (IMGB), the Institute of Insurance Sciences, and the research facilities that are managed together with other schools and institutions.
